All our cattle are born and raised here on the farm. The cattle in our herd are primarily black Angus, with some other breeds blended in. These include Simmental, Hereford, and Gelbvieh. McAdams Farm cattle graze on grass and eat some supplemental grain. We raise all of our own hay, which is used to feed the cows in the winter.

The beef that we sell has no added hormones and no antibiotics. The meat is processed and packaged under the supervision of a state inspector by Piedmont Custom Meats in North Carolina. The beef is then dry aged, cut, and frozen. Special care is taken to preserve the safety and quality of the meat.

McAdams Farm offers a wide assortment of frozen beef. Availability and selection may vary based on supply, but we should generally have the items listed below for sale at the farm and at the Carrboro Farmers' Market.

 
 
What We Offer

Ground Beef:

Ground beef is sold in approximately one-pound packages. It is approximately 85% lean and 15% fat. The ground beef is available in bulk or in patties. Either way, it is a versatile option and can be used in a variety of ways.

Premium Steaks:

All of our Angus beef steaks are cut 1-inch thick, the perfect thickness for great flavor when grilling. We have a number of cuts available, from filets to ribeyes and several others.

Roasts:

All of our Angus beef steaks are cut 1-inch thick, the perfect thickness for great flavor when grilling. We have a number of cuts available, from filets to ribeyes to flank steaks.

Other Cuts:

We also have brisket, short ribs, cube steak, stew beef, variety meats, and often other cuts as well. Just ask to see what we have!
